NASA Into the Future

Posted on by Benjamin Galindo.
Categories: ASA, NASA.

Last Friday we had an excellent meeting with James Etwell who will be the president for ASA from 2008. Some really good ideas where shared, on how ASA will support NASA and other Adventist students associations in the future.

We also had a chat about the ASA Symposium that NASA will be hosting in the middle of 2008. This will be a huge event that will need a lot of planning, hard work, and involvement from you guys. We will be sharing more on this later.

We need to elect a new NASA leadership for 2008 so we will be setting a few polls on the site with candidates and relevant positions, however, you’ll need to register here to vote.

Lastly, I would like to thank Emma and Damien for being and participating at the meeting, and their willingness to turn up even at such short notice.

Adventist young person releases own music album

Adventist young person releases own music album: “Melissa Otto, a member of the Boolaroo Seventh-day Adventist Church in North New South Wales, has just released her first music album, Opened.”

In a conversation with Katie on the weekend she mentioned that she was reading a book that she was really enjoying. Today, I received the message above from South Pacific News. Then, I thought: Why don’t we start a section on this site to share those books and music and other things that we find useful and relevant to our lives? So, I have created a new category called “Reviews” where everyone can publish reviews on books, music, etc. for others to read, listen, etc.

Now to my first attempt at writing a review.

We actually bought the album Opened sometime last month, and we have enjoyed it very much. It is a welcome change to most upbeat modern Christian music. It is an easy listening recording with beautiful vocals from Melissa. There are a couple of songs in this album from a previous release from Melissa, and the main difference that we noticed is that the new versions are much more harmonious which gives the songs a much more professional sound and makes them even better than before. We love the new songs, too. The lyrics are creative and in conjunction with the music create a peaceful atmosphere where you can find yourself thinking about God, and what, in His great love, has done for us.

Loading ... Loading ... Hmmm.. I should create a little script to add some ratings to these reviews… Zack!? ;-)

Anyway, please let us know what you think of the idea of having reviews on this site, and also what is your opinion of Melissa’s album when you listen to it.

Update: As you can see we have stars!! You need to be logged in to give stars.
