In Rememberance of Tyson
July 12th, 2008 by Benjamin Galindo

100_8125.JPGAs many of you know by now, Tyson Norris passed away on Thursday night after a tragic accident. From NASA we would like to offer our prayers and deepest sympathies to the family, and friends of Tyson.

Tyson was a lively person that lived his life to the fullest, and he will leave a deep void in our hearts. However, he was also a follower of Christ, and as such we have the assurance that we will see him again when our Saviour comes back.

Wallsend SDA church will be holding a special service today where we will comfort and support each other. So, if you are one of the many people grieving, please come and share with us.

It has been many years since my time at Macquarie College but one cannot forget that happy, smiling face. I always admired the ‘can do’ attitude shown in the Norris family and it saddens me to see the fruits of this cut short. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

We fostered Tyson for 18mths in Thailand until we had to return home to Australia on furlough. He was a handful but a delight. You would despair of him one minute and the next he would melt your heart. I’m so greatful for the love and opportunities Robert and Julie were able to give him. It’s What his birth mother wanted for him. We’re also thankful to God and the Norrises that we were able to share a small part in his life in the last few years here in Newcastle. See you in the morning Tyson where we’ll never grow old and never die and can live an even fuller life than you lived here – if that could be possible! Love you and miss you very much son.

We have known the Norris family for 20 years . We met at Tuncurry beach caravan park during the school holidays. Robert and Julie told us about Tyson and how long they had to wait to bring him home. Although Tyson and Andrew were adopted. Both Robert and Julie gave them the love ,guidance and faith. For the past 16 years we spent our summer holidays together . Tyson loved the pool and as he liked girls from a young age , he always wanted our daughter Nicole to join him . While Andrew and Adam would go to the rock pool. Our favourite time was to go up the river by boat for a picnic . These are unforgetable times with the Norris family. Tyson may have gone, but never gorgotten. Always in our hearts. We say goodbye but we will see you again.

I remember meeting Tyson at Big camp in our primary school years. We became fast friends and every year at big camp it was my custom to visit the Norris caravan site! Little did I know that making friends with Tys would result in making many more friends! I remember the times we played music together, my trumpet and Tys on piano! Tyson my friend, is sadly missed by our family.
Sympathy and love to the Norrs family, thankyou for your kind hospitality and love. Will be sure to pray for you.
from your friend…
Geoff
